From the lush highlands of Ethiopia’s Jimma Zone, Gera District, these Limu Grade 2 green coffee beans are a perfect choice for home roasters seeking a balanced and flavourful cup.
Grown at 1,400–2,100 masl under natural forest shade, Limu coffees are carefully handpicked by smallholder farmers and fully washed before being sun-dried. This traditional process helps preserve the region’s distinct flavour profile.
While Limu shares the floral and citrus brightness of Ethiopia’s famous Yirgacheffe and Sidamo coffees, it is known for its fuller body and smooth mouthfeel.
In the cup: Expect aromas of roasted nuts, burnt caramel, and red apple skin. Flavours open with vanilla cookie, cocoa, and burnt caramel, lifted by subtle floral hints of lemon blossom. Medium, peach-like acidity leads to a lingering aftertaste of caramelised nuts.
Perfect for medium roasts to highlight its balance of body and acidity, or slightly darker roasts to emphasise the cocoa and caramel notes.
