Renowned globally for its bright, complex, and aromatic cup profile, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Grade 2 hails from one of the world’s most iconic coffee-growing regions in southern Ethiopia’s Sidamo zone. Recognized as a birthplace of Arabica coffee, Yirgacheffe is a micro-region famous for producing washed coffees with exceptional clarity and floral vibrancy.
Grown at elevations between 1,700–2,200 MASL, this coffee benefits from ideal highland growing conditions. Cultivated by smallholder farmers who interplant coffee with food crops, this sustainable, community-based method supports both land health and local livelihoods. The coffee is processed using the washed (wet) method, bringing out its clean and nuanced flavour profile.
In the cup: Aromatics of dried red fruits, citrus, and vanilla biscuit lead into layered flavours of toasted tea, lemon zest, caramel, and spiced cookies with delicate floral notes. The finish offers hints of roasted nuts and caramel, with low acidity and a smooth medium body.
Perfect for specialty roasters seeking a classic Yirgacheffe profile with floral elegance, tea-like clarity, and a smooth, balanced finish.
